This policy explains how I collect and handle any information you give me on my website https://www.seachangecreative.co. My privacy commitment is based on the ten principles contained in the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (Canada) (“PIPEDA”).
I’ve attempted to keep this as simple as possible, and support regulations put in place to limit and make more transparent how companies use personal data.
I value your privacy, as I value my own. I will only ever ask for the minimum amount of information I need in order to provide my services to you. I will never use your personal information for any other reason than why you gave it to me, and I’ll never share it with anyone else unless it’s required by law.
We need to do business in new ways, by putting relationships first.
How do I collect information?
I only send information to those who ask for it, either when you fill out a form on my website or contact me directly through a social media platform.
I ask for your contact information, including name, email address, and website URL, in order to provide you with the services you are seeking from me. Sometimes, we will agree to use social media for communication. I will never spam you there or send you unsolicited information, or contact you through social media without your consent.
I collect your name and email address from my newsletter sign-up form, so I can send you the newsletter as you have requested. I do not receive notifications about unsubscribes, and in fact encourage you to unsubscribe if you are no longer receiving value from it.
All emails sent by me will be in compliance with the Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (“CASL”), including clearly stating who the email is from and providing clear information on how to contact the sender. In addition, all email messages will also contain concise information on how to remove yourself from my mailing list so that you receive no further email communication from me. Users who no longer wish to receive my newsletter or promotional materials may opt-out of receiving these communications by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the email.
Cookies
Cookies are files with small amount of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a web site and stored on your computer’s hard drive. I use “cookies” to collect information. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of my Service.
What information is held?
When you contact me through the form on my website, I collect your name and email address.
If we work together:
- I keep copies of any contracts between us
- I keep records of the invoices I send you through Paypal, and the payments you make. I never have access to your bank details.
- I keep copies of all shared documents and any work I create on your behalf.
- I share all working documents with you via Google docs
- Sensitive documents will be deleted upon request.
Unless it remains relevant to ongoing work, I will delete information you send me after one year of our project finishing.
Where is your information stored?
When you contact me by email or through my website, I store your information in Google Mail and Google Docs.
If you do business with me, I store your information in Google Docs.
If you subscribe to my newsletter, your information is stored with Mailerlite.
I do not store credit card information on any local systems. All payment information is stored within secure third party platforms whose business is to do that securely with high levels of encryption. I cannot, for instance, look up your credit card number and use it.
Who is responsible for your information?
Me and only me- Susan Tutt . You can email me susan@seachangecreative.co with enquiries, concerns or any other questions at any time.
Who has access to your information?
Only me. I am a business of one.
How I keep your information private
When I store your information using third-party services, like Google, Paypal, or Mailerlite, I am the only person with access to that service.
I store all passwords securely. The devices I use are protected by a password.
Your information will never end up on paper.
I don’t share your information
This means I don’t consciously give out or sell your information to other companies that would then market to you. Never.
However, I do share your information with third party services that are the tools that I use to run my business. Those companies all have privacy policies in place where they are not accessing your data to market to you or otherwise use your information for any reason, except for when I direct that tool to perform a function for me, like send you an email you have opt-ed in for.
You are in control of your data
You can unsubscribe, or otherwise let me know that you don’t wish me to use your data and I will honour your request.
You can ask to be entirely deleted from my system, and I can do that, with the exception that if you’ve bought anything from me, I am required to track income for tax purposes, and your receipts would remain in my accounting system for at least seven years. But you would be removed from my marketing delivery systems as entirely as I can do without compromising my tax records.
If I change the contents of this policy, those changes will become effective the moment they are published here.
